Our company has completed the implementation of another interesting project for the transportation and reloading of heavy oversized industrial equipment.
Cargo – MS5002e gas turbine, weighing 110,500 kg, dimensions 1300×4.15×4.55 m
The power equipment traveled 160 km from St. Petersburg to Vyborg on a specialized low-frame vehicle. Two modular trailers of the Goldhofer brand and a perimeter bed on which the cargo was mounted and secured were used for transportation. The oversized vehicle was accompanied by cover vehicles that ensure the safe movement of the gas turbine unit along the entire route.
As part of the project of delivery and unloading of a 110.5-ton GTU from a modular trailer to the lodges, the Lift Sistem 44A portal system was used, at the 2nd stage, with a load capacity of 272 tons. When preparing a project for transporting oversized power equipment, our specialists always calculate various ways and methods of unloading cargo. Unloading of the turbine could be carried out by crane, but depending on the location and conditions of loading and unloading, we select the most cost-effective method.
Often, the cost of mobilizing heavy-duty cranes to a remote location makes work on unloading cargo extremely expensive. Therefore, it was decided to use a portal system, which was delivered on standard trailers to the place of transshipment, to carry out work on reloading the gas turbine unit from vehicles to the lodges.
Before the arrival of the cargo, a special platform was prepared that meets all the requirements for the load on the base. This criterion is very important when installing the Lift System 44A portal system, with which the unloading was carried out.
Independent four-point cargo strapping made it possible to absolutely accurately and reliably fix the cargo for the regular places and smoothly lift from the vehicle. After lifting the gas turbine unit over the trailer, the vehicle moved out from under the load and the turbine was also smoothly lowered to the ground. All work was carried out in strict accordance with the approved by the customer PPR. We love our work and are always careful and attentive to even the heaviest cargo.
